“Start-Up your game” is an educational board game developed during the KA2 Strategic Partnership project “Game On: Developing Educational Board Games for Young Entrepreneurs” project.
The aim of the project was to develop innovative board game methods to promote entrepreneurship education and develop entrepreneurial skills of young people through co-creating, testing and disseminating new educational board games.
The aim of the game – In “Start Up your game”, you are among a young team of aspiring entrepreneurs who has just began creating and building their start-up. In order to survive the market and grow your start-up stronger, you are asked to work together with your team and prevent it from failing and disappearing into to non-existence.
Design challenge – create a visually simple, but good-looking design for young professionals, with an “easy to print” aspect for home printing purposes. As a solution, have developed a set of illustrations that represent the categories and adds visual impact to the overall story-telling.
This game has been inspired, using the game system and design base from the already existing cooperative game “Forbidden Island” [2010], made by game master, Matt Leacock, under the licence of the Gamewright company, based in Newton, USA. “Start-Up your game” has been made and adjusted only for educational purposes and not for profit.
